Police/Fire/EMS for Nov. 9, 2010

ALBANY -- Albany police responded to at least nine incidents Sunday and the early morning hours of Monday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Motor vehicle hijacking on the 2700 block of Sylvester Road;

-- Escaped persons from the Albany Transitional Center on the 300 block of North Washington Street;

-- Burglaries on the 400 block of Lepsey Drive and the 300 block of Valencia Drive;

-- Disorderly conduct on the 700 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

-- Shoplifting on the 2600 block of Dawson Road;

-- Deceased person on the 2100 block of Colquitt Avenue;

-- Open containers on the 1300 block of West Broad Avenue and the 1200 block of East Residence Avenue.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to at least 22 calls from Friday through Sunday, including three activated alarms, two medical assists, three vehicle fires, one cooking fire, three smoke scares, two building fires, three trash fires, public information programs, shorted electrical equipment, one grass fire, three vehicle accidents, unauthorized burning and the department responded to a call that pool equipment had caught on fire.
