ALBANY, Ga. -- Two separate incidents Sunday sent three people to a local hospital and one to the Dougherty County Jail.
At 4:10 a.m., the Albany Police Department was called out to 301 E. Oglethorpe Blvd., the site of China Palace, in reference to a shooting.
There were two groups of females arguing in the vicinity when authorities say Jerald Reid, 20, pulled out a handgun and shot Brian Massey and Ronald Taylor.
Reid was booked in the Dougherty County Jail on Sunday afternoon.
"Reid is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, use of an article with an altered I.D. and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon," said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman with the APD.
Both Massey and Taylor were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and later released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Around 5 a.m. on the other side of town, officers were called out to 3118 Savannah Lane in reference to a stabbing. The victim was 24-year-old Takelia Jones.
"She was bleeding heavily from several stab wounds," Banks said Monday afternoon. "Investigators are waiting to speak to her."
Banks added that no suspects had been named yet in the case. Jones was taken to Phoebe and was released.
