ALBANY, Ga. -- A shooting has sent another crime victim to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Travis White, 23, was shot by an unknown black male at 1213 Fifth Avenue Unit B just before 11 p.m. Monday.
According to the police report, there were no known witnesses as of midday Tuesday. There were also no signs of forced entry or robbery.
"Two black males knocked on the door, and when he (White) answered, they fired shots inside," said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department.
"We don't have a real description on the suspects. All we have is that one of them had a gray hoodie on."
White was wounded in his left side in the abdomen. Phoebe officials say he was in serious condition as of 2 p.m. Tuesday.
"We don't believe there is a gang connection or to any other incident," Banks said.
