ALBANY, Ga.: An Albany man has been arrested and charged with stealing a car literally off the showroom floor Thanksgiving night.
Jacory Phillips was arrested in Early County after he reportedly ran out of gas.
Police Spokesperson Phyllis Banks says that police believe he broke into Five-Star Nissan on Oglethorpe Boulevard Thanksgiving night, picked out a 2011 Nissan Altima and drove it through the glass showroom doors and off the lot.
A short time later, authorities in Early County were called to a gas station for a man begging for gas money. Upon arrival, they made contact with Phillips and placed him under arrest.
Banks said that Albany detectives will likely go pick Phillips up today and bring him back to the Dougherty County Jail.
