TALLAHASSEE -- They called him Uly when he was swiping bases at Florida A&M University but Albany native Ulysses Wilson strolled into FAMU's Hall of Fame at ease with his past accomplishments Friday night.
Wilson, a Monroe grad, was a second-team All-American and led the Rattlers in hitting and stolen bases in 1969 and 1970. On Friday night at the Lawson Center, he was honored as FAMU inducted six former stars into its hall.
Wilson was joined by track star Tiffany Daughtry, former football coach Amos Hill, former linebacker Olrick Johnson, and supporter Joe Bullard. FAMU also honored former baseball pitcher Robert Jackson, who was inducted into FAMU's Hall of Fame posthumously.
