One well-known way to protect children should the unfortunate happen and they disappear, or become lost, is to have their fingerprints on file.
To help parents keep a fingerprint record, a picture and description of their children available should the need arise, The Albany Police Department's fingerprint expert will be at Home Depot, 1219 Westover Blvd., 10 a.m. Saturday.
The officer will aid parents by making sure the fingerprinting is done properly. Parents will then have kits donated by Home Depot in which to keep the prints, a photo and other information on their children in case of emergency.
