Fab Five:
1. Lee County (5-1)
Losing to the best Class AAAA team in Georgia won't knock the Trojans from their perch here, but they need to bounce back this week to stay at No. 1.
Next: Friday vs. Hardaway, 7:30 p.m.
2. Mitchell County (5-1)
The Eagles ripped Miller County, 32-12, to take the top spot in Region 1-A. They appear to be getting stronger each week. Next: Saturday, vs. Randolph-Clay, 7:30 p.m.
3. Randolph-Clay................... (5-1)
It's hard to drop the Red Devils, who lost without their top two running backs. Next: Saturday at Mitchell, 7:30 p.m
4. Americus-Sumter (4-3)
No one is hotter than the Panthers, who are 3-0 in the Region 1-AAA race and make their debut in the Fab Five this week. Next: Friday at Dougherty, 7:30 p.m.
5. Deerfield-Windsor (6-0)
After a bye week, the Knights romped 51-6 and look unbeatable in GISA, where they are heads above everyone in the state. Next: Friday at Trinity, 7:30 p.m.

Quote of the Week

Glenn Palmer
Baconton Charter coach after Brock Pinson scored on a two-point conversion run to give Baconton a 38-37 win against Stewart County, the first on-field win in Baconton's history.
