Albany, Ga.: Twelve years after they were arrested, Allison and Dexter Morman were found guilty in federal court Friday of charges that they bilked the federal government of tens of thousands of dollars over a four year period during the mid-1990s.
Using positions within the Dougherty County office of Family and Children's Services, the Mormans were found to have conspired to steal federal funding allocated to help recipients of the Welfare program provide day care for their children, court documents show.
A sentencing hearing has not yet been set.
The Mormans are two of 13 people who were originally indicted in 1998 in connection with this particular case. All 11 others have been adjudicated in court either through their charges being reduced or dropped or through convictions.
