ALBANY -- Westover's Ericka Taylor and Greg Thorne swept the girls and boys titles in the Dougherty Cross-Country Invitational Meet on Thursday afternoon at the Robert Cross Middle School course.
Taylor won the girls meet in 20:07 and Thorne won the boys title in 16:56.
Thorne also paced Westover to the team title. Westover's Cole Koster was third and Sagar Patel finished fourth to help the Pats beat the nine-team field with 32 points, edging Colquitt County (39 points).
Early County was fourth 999) followed by Baconton (144), Albany High (177), Seminole (211), Dougherty (260), Crisp (270) and Worth County (290).
Baconton Charter's Bryton Wenzel finished second in the boys race while Early's Jonathan Davidson (eighth) and Michael johns (10th) paced the Bobcats.
Colquitt County won the girls meet with 26 points, beating Westover (45) and Early (109. Baconton Charter was fourth (125), followed by Albany High (136), Crisp (199), Americus-Sumter (2220, Seminole (250) and Worth.
Local runners in the top 10 included Albany High's Kairsha Jackson, who finished third behind Taylor and Colquitt County's Lacee Webb, Raven Martin of Early County, who was seventh and Westover's Elizabeth Golinski, who finished eighth.
