2. Lee County (6-2)
The Trojans finally drop after their one-sided loss to Thomas County Central on Friday, but can make the playoffs with a win this week. Next: Friday at Bainbridge, 7:30 p.m.
3. Americus-Sumter (5-3)
The Panthers have clinched a playoff spot and look like they'll be at home in the first round. Next: Thursday at Westover, 7 p.m.
4. Deerfield-Windsor (8-0)
The perfect Knights face their biggest test of the season this week, but there's no reason to believe they won't win. Next: Friday vs. Westfield, 7:30 p.m.
5. Miller County (6-2)
After a big win against Randolph-Clay, the Pirates face
Seminole in the annual classic showdown between these two powers. Next: Friday at Seminole, 7:30 p.m.

WHO: Juwan Jones, DE, Miller County.
WHY: Jones had a momentum-killing 95-yard kickoff return in Miller's 21-13 victory against Randolph Clay on Friday. It was the longest return of his career. He's also returned a punt for a score this season.

Herald Heisman watch:
The Top 4 performers from last Friday who are making a case for Player of the Year:
JHUE RHODES, TB, WORTH COUNTY: Filling in for injured RB Ellis Anderson, Rhodes rushed for 110 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns in Worth's win.
TAYLOR TABB, TB, SGA: Tabb rushed for 167 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns to help SGA beat Heritage 32-25 and stay unbeaten in Region 3-AA.
TERRANCE BURNETTE, QB, SHERWOOD: Burnette completed 14 of 23 passes and three touchdowns, including the game-winning toss with 22 seconds left to Vashon Gaines as the Knights defeated Southland, 33-27.
MODZELLE ATKINS, RB, MITCHELL COUNTY: Atkins rushed for 80 yards and a TD, had 48 yards receiving and a TD, and recovered a fumble in the end zone after a blocked punt for a TD to help the Eagles stay perfect in Region 1-A at 5-0.
