ALBANY -- It looks like Albany State's 13-12 win against Morehouse on Saturday was pretty significant.

Not only did the Rams (8-0 overall, 7-0 in the SIAC) move up to No. 6 in the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll, they kicked the Tigers out completely and earned some SIAC awards in the process.

Junior quarterback Stanley Jennings was named Newcomer of the Week, while junior offensive lineman Ricory Green received Offensive Lineman of the Week honors.

Jennings orchestrated ASU's come-from-behind victory as he completed 19 of 31 passes for 202 yards, including the game-winning five-yard pass with 18 seconds on the clock. The Marietta-native also scored on a 12-yard touchdown rush and led the Rams in rushing with 73 yards on 15 carries.

Green, an Albany native, was a key anchor on the ASU "Gold Rush" offensive line that helped lead the Rams to 334 total offensive yards, including 202 passing and 132 rushing yards on 59 total plays. He graded out at 92 percent.

Three other ASU players -- Ronnie Childs, Jacob Hardwick and Tory Torstenson -- received honorable mention recognitions for their performances.

Childs caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Jennings and finished with a game-high 109 yards on seven catches, with a long reception of 24 yards.

Hardwick was a key anchor on a "Dirty Blue" defense that held Morehouse to 51 rushing yards. Hardwick recorded five tackles, including two solos. He also had 2.5 sacks of 18 yards, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry.

Torstenson kicked a successful PAT to give Albany State a one-point advantage over Morehouse. It was the only successful PAT of the game.

The undefeated Rams will face the Stillman College Tigers at 2 p.m. on Saturday in their final home game of the season.
