ATHENS -- Boasting a three-game winning streak, the Georgia football team began preparations for Saturday's game with Florida with a 60-minute workout on the Woodruff Practice Fields.

The Bulldogs are 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the SEC after knocking off Kentucky, 44-31, in Lexington last Saturday. Florida, which was idle, is 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC with a three-game losing streak. This Saturday, Georgia and Florida will renew their rivalry in Jacksonville.

The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by CBS.

"We have all the respect in the world for Florida's program," Georgia coach Mark Richt said Monday. "The big thing for us this week is that we prepare like we've been preparing."

Richt then added: "We need a great day (today). We'll put the pads on and get after it. It will be a nice, solid, physical practice (today)."

Carlton Thomas, a native of Frostproof, Fla., said the Bulldogs must approach Saturday's contest like all of their games.

"The only differences are all the festivities and that it's 50-50 in a neutral site," Thomas said. "Other than that, it's still four quarters and somebody's got to win and somebody's got to lose."

Richt said the captains for Saturday's game will be Clint Boling, Shaun Chapas, DeMarcus Dobbs and Akeem Dent.

On Monday, Justin Houston was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Houston had five tackles, including two sacks and three tackles for loss against Kentucky. He also recovered a fumble, recorded seven quarterback hurries and had a pass break-up.

Houston remains the SEC leader in sacks with 8.5 and is second in the league with 14.0 tackles for loss.
