ALBANY -- Officers chased down burglars in the act last week leading to a round up of 26 suspects and more than $15,000 in stolen loot, said Albany Police Department Detective Terrance Bryant.

"We got a lucky break when we got several juveniles in the Georgetown Landings area," Bryant said. "For the past 12 months we have been investigating burglaries in East and West Albany."

As part of the continuing investigation that cleared about 18 burglary cases, officers will look into the juveniles and the adults gang connections, if any. The adults seemed to at least be organized into three separate criminal rings, Bryant said.

The arrests last week were in East and Central Albany, Bryant said. As the case continues, officers plan to arrest more and return more loot to the victims.

Most of the televisions, electronic game consoles and laptop computers have already been returned to the victims. However, police displayed a 60-inch flat screen television, designer-style clothes and two tables with other laptops and video games Thursday that belong to unknown victims.

If anyone can identify the goods, they can come in to the Law Enforcement Center at 201 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard or call the police at (229) 431-2100.

The police released the names of the following adults who were arrested for burglary: Rodney Bernard Taylor, Michael Deangelowes Sindy, Maurice Ay' Kie Barney, Gregory Dontavious Noird, Marquis Laron Robinson, all 17, Keon Montrez Harris, 18, Kwame Supreme Darby, 19, Tavaris Dominique Maddox, 22, Dessere Ashley Gray, 23, Torrance Roshaun Prince, 25, Tonya L. Sorrow, 27, Aleah Maleeka Fonsworth, 28, and Jowaskee Antwan Pemberton, 29.
