Det. Charlie Roberts gives advice to make homes less of a target for would-be robbers.

ALBANY, Ga.: Albany Police are searching for two men who robbed an Albany family at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Det. Charlie Roberts says that two men, between the ages of 15 and 17, entered a home on the 1000 block of South Cleveland Avenue around 10:21 p.m. Wednesday night.

The victim, 36-year-old Palanthia Bell, told police that she heard a knock at her back door and glanced over to see a tall, slim-built, male wearing a white tank-top t-shirt armed with a shotgun.

The second suspect approached the house from behind the first and was also described as tall, slim-built with a white t-shirt.

Roberts said that Bell told police that the two men entered the house and ordered her and her son to remain still while they stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The two then fled the home through the back door.

Police are working it as an active investigation and are soliciting the public's help with information. Anyone with information on the robbery can call Albany Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS or the Albany Police Department at 431-2100.
