ALBANY -- The Sherwood softball team reached double digits in the win column Friday after defeating Brookwood, 13-0, in five innings.
Pitcher Anna Laine Brock (10-3) had eight strikeouts and gave up only one hit in the victory, lowering her team-best ERA to 0.71 in the process.
"She always keeps you in the game and is a talent that comes around once in a great while," head coach Greg Richter said about Brock. "She always keeps us within a run or two of the ball game. She's pretty special."
Kaylee Dixon had two doubles and 3 RBI for the Lady Eagles (10-3), and Casie Wright added a double and RBI.
"We played pretty good," Richter said. "We just gotta make every play we can and put pressure on both the offensive and defensive sides (of the game).
"We've done pretty good so far ... We've executed well."
Sherwood plays Deerfield next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sherwood.
