One arrested in fight

ALBANY, Ga. — A fight between two juveniles ended Monday evening when one was arrested and another managed to elude capture.

According to Albany Police Department Spokesman Steve Butler, APD officers responded to a disturbance at the Riverfront Park around 7 p.m. on Labor Day where a fight had broken out between two female juveniles.

“The officer saw a crowd of young people at the park across from the Ray Charles Plaza and found two females fighting,” said the APD spokesman.

Butler said the officer arrested a 16-year-old girl, whose name has been withheld, for disorderly conduct.

The other girl, who police said they believe was also a juvenile, managed to escape capture by running from the officer and driving away in a white Nissan.

Butler said the police are still looking for the other suspect, and if she is found will also be charged with disorderly conduct.
