ALBANY, Ga. — What started as a verbal argument eventually landed a couple in jail.

Patricia Ousley and Charlie Daniels of 1405-B Avalon Avenue were charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault, respectively, following a domestic dispute that turned physical just before midnight Monday.

Officials with the Albany Police Department said that Ousley was stabbed by Daniels in the right leg with a knife following a verbal argument. Ousley then retaliated by getting a tree limb and beating Daniels with it.

“Ousley left and re-entered the residence with a limb,” said APD Det. Bryant Leverett.

One of the people at the residence then alerted authorities. Daniels came out of the incident with broken bones and lacerations, Leverett said.

Emergency medical personnel transported both parties to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment. They were taken to Dougherty County Jail following their release from Phoebe.

Authorities said that both Daniels and Ousley had been drinking prior to the incident.
