ALBANY -- Don't worry Sherwood football -- the softball team has your back.

SCA, which renewed its rivalry with cross-town foe DWS this season when the Eagles moved back into the Knights' GISA AAA classification, fell to Deerfield in football two weeks ago. But the softball team made sure Tuesday it would exact a little revenge with a 12-0 shutout win that lasted just four innings.

Anna Laine Brock tossed a one-hitter, Payton Couch finished with a game-high three RBI and Sherwood improved its record to 11-3 overall and is now 3-1 in region play.

Amber Young provided the lone hit for DWS.

Heather Ellis finished with two hits, three runs scored, and a home run, while twin sister Haley Ellis also went yard.

"When you have multiple people hit home runs, it's hard to lose," Worth coach Russ Beard joked.

Kimberly Lee also played well for Worth, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.

Kelly Weaver picked up the win after going five innings and striking out two batters.

SGA 29, VALWOOD 3 (3):

No ... that score is not a mistake.

Behind the hot bat of Heather Grebel, SGA romped in three innings as Grebel finished with a double, a triple and a game-high five RBI, while Morgan Everson had three RBI for SGA. Addison Ponder and Allison Houston, who pitched the second and third innings after ace Bailey Poner worked the first, each drove in two runs, as did Haley Chappel.

The win improves SGA record to 11-1 overall with a perfect 4-0 region mark.
