ALBANY, Ga. -- A man who reported being stabbed in the neck by three men at 2:14 a.m. Thursday on the 500 block of Swift Street now has charges filed against him in the case.
Antonio Oliver, 29, was treated and released from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital later Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said. He ended up being charged with making a false statement and making one in writing to police, said Phyllis Banks, Albany Police Department spokeswoman.
Apparently the story about being stabbed by three men didn't hold up after the police investigation, Banks added. Police are looking for a woman who was at the location, but who left before they arrived, Banks said.
"Detectives need the public's assistance with locating 26-year-old Jamesheia Frazier," Banks said. "Frazier is a person of interest and is wanted for questioning in this case."
