ALBANY, Ga. -- Time is winding down for those who haven't registered to vote in the Nov. 2 elections, even as early voting is under way.
Officials with the Dougherty County Elections Board note that Oct. 4 -- less than two weeks from now -- is the last day an unregistered resident can sign up to vote in the upcoming general election.
Among the offices that will be determined in November are governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, U.S. representative for the Second Congressional District and U.S. senator.
Residents can obtain voter registration forms in room 220 of the Government Building on Pine Ave., public assistance agencies or any public library.
And once a voter is registered, he or she can get down to the business of selecting a candidate right away. Early voting started Monday.
Currently and through Oct. 29, voters can cast ballots 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays in room 220 of the Government Center. During the week of Oct. 25-29, a second location at the candy Room, 125 Pine Ave., will also be available for early voting from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
