Disney on Ice skates into Albany

ALBANY -- Royalty is coming to Albany, and with it comes the message that dreams really can come true.

"Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes" will be performed at the Albany Civic Center Thursday-Sunday, and attendees will get the chance to see some of their favorite Disney princesses come to life on the ice.

The show follows seven Disney princesses as their wishes become reality, and the show is set to the classic soundtracks of the movies.

Tinkerbell guides the audience through each story, while the princesses and their princes perform acrobatic feats with stunning sets and costumes.

For mermaid lovers, the show features the journey of Ariel and her quest to unlock her dreams of land and legs from under the sea.

Joining her on the ice will be Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan.

According to Valerie Harris, founder and public relations director for The Kinsey Group, guests will also be treated to a preshow experience that any princess fan would enjoy.

"Starting one hour before each 'Princess Wishes' performance, families will be treated to (an) exclusive collection of gowns and treasures from the Disney princess stories," said Harris.

Families might also get the chance to meet Cinderella or Disney's newest princess, Tiana, during the preshow.

Admission for "Princess Wishes" ranges from $13-$32, and tickets are available at the Civic Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and at www.disneyonice.com.

Showtimes are Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
