ALBANY, Ga. -- A teenager was arrested Monday morning in connection to an armed robbery that took place in East Albany.
At 12:30 a.m., officers were called out in reference to a robbery. The Albany Police Department responded to apartments at 1001 Dunes Ave., where a victim's wallet was taken.
"Upon their (the officers' arrival), the victim reported that he was approached by (a suspect) while he was leaving his residence," said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, in an email to The Albany Herald. "The suspect was wearing something over his head and he pointed a black handgun at (the victim), while demanding money.
"The victim threw his wallet onto the ground. The suspect picked it up and fled the scene. The victim saw the suspect run into a residence and called police."
The victim was identified was Hosea Reyes, 29, who lives in Unit 49 of the complex. The suspect was identified as Xavier Brown, 19. Authorities have since arrested Brown.
No one was injured during the incident, Banks said.
