Kiwanis awards students in art
ALBANY -- The Kiwanis of Dougherty Club recognized art competitors in grades 6th - 12th recently. The students were from public, private and home school associations in Dougherty and Lee counties. The club has sponsored the art show since 1980. Currently the art is showing at the Albany Museum of Art until April 15, it will be moved to Albany Mall and shown there from April 18 - May 1. The elementary school art is now on exhibit at Albany Mall until April 15. Chris Enfinger a student at Westover Comprehensive High School was awarded "Best in Show" for his exhibit, "Trilogy of Sorrow." Brandon Rogers of Dougherty High School was awarded "Best in Show" for second and third place for his exhibits, "Something to Love" and "Hope Shall Never Fade." Charity League welcomes new members
ALBANY -- The Charity League of Albany honored new members for 2011 at a luncheon recently at Doublegate Country Club. The purpose of the league is develop the potential of its members and the Albany Debutante Club both in education and charitable involvement in our community. The club was founded in 1933.
