ARC prepares for auction, fiesta

ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany Advocacy Resource Center is preparing for its 3rd annual Mexican Fiesta Silent and Live Auction to raise funds for the organization.

The event is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. May 12 at Albany's Hilton Garden Inn.

Tickets are available for $20 in advance, and will be $25 at the door.

Tickets can be purchased by calling (229) 888-6852, emailing mjohnson@albanygaarc.org or going online at www.albanyarc.org.

The food is included in the ticket price and will be provided by Hilton Garden Inn. The crowd will be entertained by musical guest Jose Tongol and his band.

A live and silent auction will be conducted during the event. Among the items to be auctioned include an LCD television, beach house vacation, autographed sports memorabilia, autographed celebrity memorabilia, local art, furniture, memberships to local attractions, jewelry, spa packages, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets and more.

"What makes this event so special is that it's always such a fabulous party with great auction items to bid on, but the best part is that by attending, you really are helping people who need your support," said Albany ARC Board member Debbie Fulford.

"Sometimes with all the excitement of the evening, this fact is easy to forget, but while many guests relax and enjoy the festivities, Albany ARC's Fundraising Committee never loses sight of the fact that the money raised helps people in the community with disabilities."

People of all ages with intellectual or developmental disabilities benefit from Albany ARC's programs.
