ALBANY -- Fresh off a huge 3-2 win over the weekend against region foe Tiftarea, the Deerfield baseball team won its second game in a row Monday when it smacked around Calvary Christian, 7-2, to move to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in region.

Banks Kinslow went the distance in Saturday's win, while Gil Gillespie did the same Monday, striking out seven, while giving up just six hits.

And the fact that Deerfield's bats were active Monday didn't hurt the outing by Gillespie, who notched two RBI in the win.

Harris Webb was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, Chris Moates was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, Rhett Cooper had a double, an RBI and scored a run, Hunter Brettel added two RBI on a pair of sac flies, Michael Laslie had a double and scored a run and Matt Moree did the same.

DWS returns to the diamond today against rival Sherwood at 6 p.m.
