ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany Police Department officials said Tuesday night they have arrested a suspect in the broad daylight Sunday robbery of a convenience store.
Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for APD, said Tuesday night that a man identified as Rodney Allen had been arrested in connection with the 9:33 a.m. Sunday armed robbery of a Chevron convenience store on the 1800 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard.
According to police, a black man walked into the business and held the clerk at gunpoint. He demanded money from the register and the employee complied.
During the incident, the bandit went behind the counter and took a cash box that contained an undetermined amount of money, police said.
The gunman was described as a black male with a dark complexion.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark colored jeans.
