BROOKFIELD, Ga. — Authorities say a Georgia Power Co. worker has been electrocuted while working on a line just east of Brookfield.

The Tifton Gazette reported that the accident happened along U.S. Highway 82 on Tuesday.

Authorities identified the employee as 48-year-old Steven Broadus Sellers of Moultrie, who died late Tuesday night.

Wood said the line Sellers was working on somehow came in contact with a live line and he was electrocuted.

Lynn Lovett, Georgia Power’s Tifton area manager, said that Sellers had more than 20 years of experience as a lineman with almost four of those years with Georgia Power.
