Dena Downs Davis and George Erwin Bowers Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hoyed Davis, Sr. of St. Simons Island, formerly of Albany, GA are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Dena Downs Davis of St. Simons Island to George Erwin Bowers, Jr. also of St. Simons Island; he is the son of Colonel and Mrs. George Erwin Bowers, Sr. of Chesapeake, VA.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard V. Richard and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyed Davis both formerly of Albany, GA. She is a graduate of Deerfield-Windsor School and attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA majoring in Human Services. She is employed as a Nanny.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Major General and Mrs. Emmett Wadsworth Bowers, Sr. of Albany, GA and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Franklin Jarrell of El Paso, TX. He is a graduate of Oscar-Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA and Darton College with a degree in Business. He is employed by Heritage Turf Farm (Sales).
The wedding is planned for September 24, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica at St. Simons Island, GA.
