LEESBURG -- The Lee County softball team, after starting the season 0-2, finally got into the win column Thursday with a 7-4 victory against Hardaway, which handed Lee one of its first two losses of the season last week. The other came against Tift County.
But Thursday, it was Lee's turn for payback as Alyson Marshall picked up the win, allowing just six hits, while also going 2-for-3 from the play with a double. Natalie Shiver, meanwhile, was a perfect 4-for-4, and Ashley Nichols was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI. Hailey Scott (2-for-3, run scored two RBI) also a good day for Lee, which will next play at home Monday against Pacelli.
RANDOLPH SOUTHERN 8, TERRELL ACADEMY 5:
Alana McCook picked up the win, going 2 1/3 innings and allowing just three hits. Ace Madison Ragan then came in and struck out nine, shutting TAE down the rest of the way.
