Seminole County star RB Chris Brown is ready to have a huge year after missing nearly all of last season with an injury.
DONALSONVILLE -- Chris Brown ain't afraid of a silly ol' scrimmage -- even if it was a scrimmage that almost cost him his entire junior season a year ago.
Brown, Seminole County's superstar running back who was set to rewrite the Indians' record books last season before being injured in a preseason scrimmage and was lost for nearly the entire year, was dynamite for Seminole County on Friday night during a scrimmage against high-powered Wilcox County, which ended in a 28-28 tie.
Brown scored twice, once on a 4-yard TD run and another time on a 9-yard TD pass, and also picked off two passes with returns of 45 and 22 yards. He even returned a kickoff for 28 yards and finished with 107 yards rushing on just nine attempts.
Brown, who rushed for a staggering 1,400 yards and 26 touchdowns as a sophomore, is expected to make a huge impact for the Indians this season as they make a push for a Region 1-A title. To do that, they'll have to keep Brown healthy and get more performances from their QB Antwan Buggs and running back Barren Rambo like they got Friday night. Buggs scored on a 32-yard TD run and finished with 48 yards on 11 attempts, and he also passed for 63 yards, going 4-for-7. Rambo, the brother of UGA starting safety Bacarri Rambo, scored on a 5-yard romp and finished with 53 yards on eight attempts.
Seminole opens its season Friday night at home against Wesleyan, which is ranked No. 4 coming out of the preseason.
