Police/Fire/EMS for Aug. 27, 2011

ALBANY -- Albany police responded to at least 48 incidents Thursday and into the early hours of Friday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Truancy on the 2200 block of Massey Drive;

-- Theft by taking on the 1400 block of Clark Avenue, the 800 block of Seventh Avenue, the 800 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard and the 800 block of 10th Avenue;

-- Loitering and prowling on the 900 block of Corn Avenue and the 2400 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

--Attempted burglary on the 1400 block of North Jefferson Street;

-- Burglary on the 300 block of Elsom Street, the 100 block of Constitution Court and the 1700 block of Oakridge Drive;

-- Disorderly conduct, a fight on the 2200 block of Stratford Drive;

-- Missing juvenile/recovered on the 600 block of North Van Buren Street;

-- Rape on the 2100 block of Newton Road;

-- Simple battery on the 4200 block of Tift Avenue;

-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 1100 block of Colquitt Avenue, the 400 block of Lipsey Drive, the 400 block of Heard Avenue, the 500 block of Frotscher Street, the 400 block of South Cleveland Street, the 800 block of Rosedale Avenue and two reports on the 500 block of Seventh Avenue.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to six calls, including a call to help gain entry for a welfare check on a resident, two unattended cookings, two false alarms and a trash fire.
