MACON -- No seniors?

No problem for the Randolph Southern Patriots, who posted one of their biggest wins in years with a 41-0 victory against Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Saturday night in their 2011 season opener.

The Patriots, who have 17 players and not a single senior on their roster, may have surprised many with their blowout win, but not Randolph Southern coach Otis Griggs.

"It didn't surprise me with their effort," Griggs said. "I knew they would bust their fannies to do the best they could. We made mistakes, but they really played hard on both sides of the ball."

Junior Matt Kendrick led Randolph Southern with 131 yards rushing and 88 yards receiving. He scored three touchdowns -- two rushing and one receiving.

Junior quarterback Blake Lamb, who Griggs said "managed the game really well," ran for 64 yards and was 2-for-4 with 104 passing yards.

Also for the Patriots, junior Trae Gorre rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown, freshman Logan Eubanks ran for 12 yards and a score and freshman Jarred Sauls caught a 16-yard touchdown pass.

"I'm just proud of them," Griggs said. "The coaching staff has put in a lot of hours. They and the kids deserve all the credit. I can't play a down. I can't throw the ball and I surely can't run. I'm too old. But I enjoy watching the players play, and they played hard (Saturday night)."

Randolph Southern next plays again at 7:30 p.m. Friday at home against Harvester Christian Academy.
