Police/Fire/EMS - Sept 1, 2011

ALBANY -- Albany police responded to at least 33 incidents Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Burglaries on the 1400 block of Mulberry Avenue and the 1200 block of Pinecrest Drive;

-- Thefts by taking on the 1300 block of Radium Springs Road and the 1200 block of Colquitt Avenue;

-- Motor vehicle theft on the 900 block of West Residence Avenue;

-- Financial transaction card fraud on the 2000 block of Beattie Road;

-- Runaway juvenile on the 2600 block of Partridge Drive;

-- Recovered property: a woman found a .32 caliber handgun wrapped in plastic underneath supermarket plastic bags in a closet at her residence on the 300 block of Common Avenue;

-- Two counts animals at large on the 1600 block of Cromartie Beach Drive;

-- Inhumane treatment, a dog chained up, on the 800 block of Goodall Avenue;

-- Disorderly conduct, fights, on the 700 block of Highland Avenue and the 2600 block of Dawson Road;

-- Vandalism (domestic) on the 200 block of North Madison Street;

-- Simple battery (domestic) on the 200 block of North Carroll Street;

-- Domestic disturbance (unfounded) on the 800 Block of West First Avenue.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Dougherty County EMS responded to 61 calls on Tuesday. There were 48 medical calls and 13 trauma calls. Chief medical complaints included eight chest pains, one respiratory issue, two people fainted, one altered mental state, two diabetic issues, one seizure call, two mental health calls, four miscellaneous pain calls, one stroke symptom, and 26 various medical calls. Trauma calls included five auto crash victims, six falls, a bite and one fight/assault.

LEE SHERIFF: Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to at least 47 calls Monday and Tuesday. Deputies responded to calls including:

-- Vandalism on the 2800 block of Ledo Road;

-- Domestic disturbance on the 1000 block of State Highway 377;

-- Drunken driving on the 1200 block of U.S. Highway 82;

-- Disturbance on the 100 block of Magnolia Avenue;

-- Vehicle crash on the 1400 block of U.S. Highway 19;

-- Vehicle crash/hit and run on the 1300 block of U.S. Highway 19;

-- Theft on the 100 block of Creek Drive;

-- Road Hazard on the 200 block of Lover's Lane Road;

-- Animal call on the 1400 block of U.S. Highway 19;

-- Recovered property, a needle and spoon, on the side of a building on the 1200 block of U.S. Highway 82.
