ALBANY — A victim wrestled with his armed attacker only to be robbed and suffer a gunshot wound to the thigh at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday, stated an Albany Police Department report.
Jatarious Bronner was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s emergency room with a gunshot wound, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. A hospital spokeswoman at 5:45 p.m. Friday said that the hospital did not have a patient by that name.
“An unknown black male approached Bronner and demanded money as he exited a vehicle” in the alley, Banks said. “The two got in a struggle over the gun. And while on the ground Bronner suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh.”
Banks said, police plan to charge the robber with aggravated assault and armed robbery.
The robber was described as a black male about 18 or 19 years old, no more than 6 feet 1 inch tall, light complexion, dressed all in black with a tattoo on his face.
