TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — It’s perhaps the perfect example of the transient and fickle nature of the music industry to note that the four artists who’ve performed the Broadway smash “Rain — A Tribute to the Beatles” have been together longer than the Beatles themselves.

That quartet will take their show directly from a Broadway engagement to the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center on Friday for a one-show-only performance of the acclaimed musical that is built around the classic songs of the Fab Four.

The Associated Press raved, “It’s the next-best thing to seeing The Beatles,” and the totally live, note-for-note renditions of classics like “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Let It Be,” “Come Together,” “Hey Jude” and other classics provide justification for such enthusiasm.

An evening with “Rain” will take Beatles fans of several generations back to the time when all you needed was love ... and a little help from your friends.

Tickets for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. performance are on sale at the Civic Center box office at 505 W. Pensacola St., at all Ticketmaster outlets, at Ticketmaster.com or by calling (850) 222-0400 or (800) 322-3602.
