Collection for the needy under way

ALBANY — Albany Recreation & Parks Department is having a donation drive to collect needed items for “A Place 4 Hope.” The ARPD decided to take up this challenge because we are a part of this community and want to be able to give to those in real need.

Roni Ware and Kozman Barnum started out last year in collecting blankets, but this year asked what items were most needed. A few items were provided on a list, hygiene products, scrubs, washing detergent, pocket tissues, combs and most importantly blankets.

The holiday drive is currently taking place and will end on Dec. 20. A drop off location is at 206 S. Monroe St.

“A Place 4 Hope” will also accept monetary donations. Those wanting to make a donation my make a check payable to The Salvation Army with “A Place 4 Hope” noted in the memo line.
