CORDELE -- Funeral services for Edgar Wills Pritchett of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany. Mr. Pritchett, 65, died Saturday at Crisp Regional Hospital as the result of injuries he received in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Pritchett was born in Cordele and was the son of the late Edgar D. and Mary Fletcher Pritchett. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was employed with the Marine Corps Logistics Center in Albany. He was a Methodist and a member of the Remaining Few Motorcycle Club.
Mr. Pritchett is survived by three dear family friends, Dr. Mary Cown of Naples, FL, Fred Cown, Jr. of Cordele and Josh Jones of El Paso, TX; a daughter, Candace Pritchett; a sister-in-law, Peggy Pritchett; uncle, Thomas Pritchett, Sr.; cousins, Tommy Pritchett, Jr., Susan I. Pritchett, Carolyn P. Hill, Dinah P. Phillips, Paul Illman, Susan Freedman, Kyle Carroll and Peggy Illman; niece and nephew, Paige Samples and Gary Pritchett; and three sisters, Janie Melick of Cordele, Lessie Pitts of Central Point, OR and Judy Shiver of Warwick.
The family will receive friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. An on-line register is available at www.raineyfuneral.com.

Having worked with Ed with for over 10 years and I can say he was a great guy!! He saw everyone as the same, he was a real person. I use to say if Ed could talk to a squirrel, he would, he's a talker, smile. I have never heard one thing bad about Ed. We use to talk about Hawaii, a place we both love. He will be missed.
