ALBANY, Ga. — A 20-year-old has been arrested in connection with an incident that put a shooting victim in the hospital earlier this month.
Nicholas Johnson was located by the Albany Police Department on the 500 block of Ardmore Lane over the weekend. He is being charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime.
In the incident, the victim, Jatarious Bronner, 28, wrestled with an armed attacker only to be robbed and suffer a gunshot wound to the thigh at about 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 1.
The suspect reportedly approached Bronner and demanded money as he exited a vehicle in an alley. The two got into a struggle over the gun, and while on the ground, the weapon went off and Bronner suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh.
An undetemined amount of cash was taken from Bronner during the course of the incident. He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s emergency room for treatment, the APD said.
The robber was initially described as a black male about 18 or 19 years old, no more than 6-foot-1 tall with a light complexion dressed all in black — with a tattoo on his face.
