ALBANY — A brush fire that licked trees, blazed through high dry weeds and spewed thick black smoke met its match at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. The fire raged in an empty lot at the rear of the Pecan Grove Corporate Center across Newton Road from the Albany Regional Airport.
Albany Fire Department firefighters went right to work on arrival, spraying water to drown the flames. The grass fire didn’t have a chance.
