ALBANY — The Albany Police Department’s Family Protection Unit rescheduled its child seat safety event to 1 p.m. Dec. 21 at the East Albany Wal-Mart.
Parents should know that this is not a car seat giveaway but is an effort to provide seats to those who may have inadequate car seats for their children.
“We are aware that the holiday travel season is approaching, and this event will give local law enforcement agencies an opportunity to educate parents about the proper installation of car seats as they travel to their various destinations this holiday season and beyond,” said Detective Cpl. Bryant Leverett.
The event is the product of an ongoing community partnership with the Albany Kiwanis Club. The organization provided a donation covering expenses for the car seats.
