Albany couple held up at gunpoint at 6 a.m. Saturday.

ALBANY, Ga. — A married couple was held up by two gunmen at about 6 a.m. Saturday on the 1800 block of Pineknoll Lane alley. Albany Police Department officers are searching for the two black men who escaped with an undetermined amount of money.

The victims, Curt Rhodes, 74, and his wife Pat, 54, were injured, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately available, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.

According to police reports the robbery began in the alley as Rhodes was going to his car. A man approached wielding a gun and a struggle began. Pat Rhodes heard her husband outside. The second man attacked her and forced her back into the residence.

The first robber, the report added, then forced Curt Rhodes into the house, where money was demanded. The robbers took money and ran away.
