Lee sheriff gives awards

Sheriff Reggie D. Rachals announces the following Officers of the year for the Lee County Sheriff's Office for 2011. Kristy Watson received Communications Officer of the year, Fred Tedder received Detention Officer of the year, and Capt. Keith Houston received Deputy of the year.

Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals awarded plaques recently to the Lee Sheriff’s Office officers of the year. Houston was also one of three officers who were given life-saver awards by Rachals. Houston and Capt. Jeff Kirt administered CPR and gained a heartbeat for a motorist in Smithville who had gone into cardiac arrest while driving on U.S. Highway 19, while Sgt. Chris Eubanks administered CPR on a 5-month-old infant in response to a call during a routine patrol. From left below are Kirt, Eubanks and Houston.
