OCILLA -- Grace Paulk Gibbs, 84, of Ocilla, Georgia died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward McIntyre and Elder Jimmy Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Pinetta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mrs. Gibbs was born May 13, 1927 in Irwin County to the late Jacob T. and Margaret Gray Paulk. She lived in Irwin County all of her life, graduated from Ocilla High School and attended Andrew College. She taught school at Mystic Elementary School, was a former employee of Ben Hill County Stockyard, Irwin County Livestock, Tift County Livestock and Paulk Funeral Home. Mrs. Gibbs was a member of Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron. She was well known for her catering and baking cakes and rolls.

She is survived by her sons, Earle Gibbs of Ocilla, Keith (Connie) Gibbs of Crawfordville, FL and Reggie (Dixie) Gibbs of Ocilla; grandchildren, Billi (Ken) Faust, Keri (Andrew) Tucker, Haley Gibbs, Leia (Chris) Wilkerson, Aaron Gibbs, Dacey Gibbs, Amanda Turner, Savannah Turner and Eli Turner; great grandson, Payton Faust; sister-in-law, Dorothy Chapman of Ocilla; brother-in-law, Randolph (Jane) Gibbs of Moultrie as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Gibbs, Jr., brothers, Ernest M. Paulk and T.J. Paulk and a sister, Marjorie Paulk.
