Taxpayers getting poor return on investment
Warren Grant
Page Two wants someone to correct me if I’m wrong. There are only two passenger flights in and out of Albany per day, and we are about to spend $10 million on a new terminal. I would really like to find something good to write about but let’s recap a few things. I don’t remember all the exact numbers, but we put a couple hundred thousand in an arch that serves no purpose. A few million in an aquarium that won’t support itself. About $600,000 in four stacks of concrete blocks that will have to be maintained. And now $10 million on an airport terminal that could probably be handled out of someone’s garage if it weren’t for the runway. If you spend money you should expect some kind of return. What are we getting for the waste of taxpayers money?
We have a school system that is completely dysfunctional and is more of a fraud system that a school system. Can someone please tell me where this egregious and insidious disease called ignorance was allowed to incubate? It seems to me that above all others we should be able to trust our teachers and police, but you can forget about politicians so wasting our money is apparently OK. How many of our police have been in trouble or lost their badge in the last five years? We now have teachers teaching our children how to lie, cheat and steal. I cannot fathom the possibility of getting out of this mess. More Later from Page Two.
