PREP HOOPS ROUNDUP: Bainbridge, Dougherty, Crisp Academy girls teams finish unbeaten in tourneys

THOMASVILLE — The Bainbridge girls basketball team improved to 7-4 and finished a perfect 3-0 in the Thomasville Hoop Fest with a 68-57 victory against Brunswick on Friday.

RiChana Jackson led the way for Bainbridge with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Alex Carter had 17 points and three rebounds and Briana Wade had 13 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists and a block.

The Lady Bearcats also defeated Thomasville and Mitchell County earlier in the week in the tournament.

DOUGHERTY GIRLS 68, Burke County 27: The Herald No. 2 Lady Trojans finished 2-0 in the Brewton Parker Christmas Classic and improved to 9-1 overall.

Ra’Keta Shelton scored a game-high 21 points for the Lady Trojans, who defeated Groves on Thursday, 58-34. Also for Dougherty, Terrianna Martin had 12 points and Shawntal Byrd had 11 points.

Dougherty is in action again Tuesday in a huge matchup against Crisp County.

CRISP ACADEMY GIRLS 51, FULLINGTON 33: Madi Mitchell scored 18 points to lead Crisp Academy to its seventh win in a row. Crisp (10-3) finished 2-0 in the Border Wars tournament against some of the top private schools in Alabama.

Also for Crisp, Jay Jay Yawn had 10 points, Kristen Greene added eight and Kayla Childers scored seven.
