ALBANY, Ga. -- Men are being called to come to several locations to pledge against domestic abuse by officials with Liberty House, a shelter for the physical and emotionally abused in Southwest Georgia.
"Focused on men, this project is a way for men to join the dialogue about violence against women," said Silke Deeley, the organization's executive director. "Make a pledge to not commit or condone violence and seal the pledge by placing your handprint and name on a display board."
"The Handprint Project" is scheduled for Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at five locations. Further information is available by calling (229) 439-7094.
The sites are:
- The Government Center, 222 Pine Ave.
- Darton College Student Union, 2400 Gillionville Road.
- Turner Job Corps Center, 2000 Schilling Ave.
- Albany Tech Student Union, 704 S. Slappey Blvd.
- Albany State University (11 a.m.-3 p.m.), 504 College Drive.
