DCPD: Man arrested for 282 child porn pictures

ALBANY, Ga. -- Out on $50,000 bail from Lee County on child exploitation charges, a Dougherty County man faces multiple charges after an investigation finds more than 280 child-porn pictures on his computers, authorities said.

Sean Petroff, 39, of 4222 Hardaway Drive, was arrested for child exploitation at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, said Detective David Zigan, of the Dougherty County Police Department.

"The pictures on his computer show 5-year-old to 13-year-old children engaged in sex acts with partners, usually older men," Zigan said. "There are also 1,942 pictures of child erotica. Little girls in underwear and bathing suits posing sexually."

In August, Petroff was arrested for enticing a child for indecent purposes and child exploitation by Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies.

Sheriff's First Sgt. Tommy Goodwin posed online as a 13-year-old girl to chat with Petroff, officers said. Goodwin, again posing as the girl, agreed to meet Petroff. Instead of meeting the girl for sex, Petroff met an arrest by deputies.

That opened the door for a warrant to seize Petroff's computers, Zigan said. The computer that worked was sent along with several that didn't to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for analysis.

The analysis turned up the pictures that led to Petroff's arrest in Dougherty County. He is in Dougherty County Jail charged with 15 felony counts of exploitation of children with no bail set, a jail spokeswoman said at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

"I read him his rights at 2:20 p.m. We did 15 felony charges to get him into jail," Zigan said. "We'll be going to the district attorney and asking for indictments on the rest of the pictures."
