Man dies from injuries in Radium Springs crash

ALBANY, Ga. -- A Baconton man involved in a automobile crash last month on the 1700 block of Radium Springs Road has died.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, issued an update on the Dec. 10 accident confirming that John Ramsey, 85, died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Friday.

The update, e-mailed to members of the media Monday, said that Ramsey died from multiple blunt force trauma caused by the head-on collision.

Preliminary investigations into the incident found that William Davis, 66, had driven his green 2000 Jeep Cherokee into the path of a bronze 2006 Nissan Sentra -- which was being driven by Flora Ramsey, 83.

Davis drove himself to a nearby hospital. Three days after the accident, John Ramsey and Flora Ramsey were listed in serious condition at Phoebe. Flora Ramsey has since been discharged from the hospital.

Charges are pending for Davis.
