Three armed men steal two cars in two days

ALBANY, Ga. -- One man pointed a gun while he and his two accomplices stole cars on Lippitt Drive, stated an Albany Police Department report.

Dressed in camouflage jackets with bandanas covering their faces, three men walked up to a couple in a 2007 silver Ford 500 at 819 Lippitt Drive at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday.

One of the men pointed a handgun at Joshua Thomas, 21, and Dominique Pittman, 21, and told them to get out of the car, the report stated. The men drove off in the stolen Ford.

Two days earlier at about 10:10 p.m. three men walked up to Lashuntae Williams, 30, at 918 Lippitt Drive, said the report. One man flashed a handgun and demanded Williams' cell phone and car keys, police said.

The three men piled into Williams' 2002 tan Chevrolet Impala and drove off into the night, the report stated.

"Both cases remain under investigation," said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. "They are looking at the similarities in both cases as part of their investigation but at this time they have not connected the two."
