One injured in three-vehicle crash on Expressway

ALBANY, Ga. -- Three vehicles traveling west on Liberty Expressway at 11:15 a.m. Thursday collided sending one driver to the hospital.

Tanya Taylor was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where she was later discharged, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The other drivers involved in the accident between the Jefferson Street and Slappey Boulevard exits were Dale Brown, 53, of Albany, and Kelsey Adams, 36, of Leesburg, according to an Albany Police Department report.

Brown suffered minor injuries, the report stated. Adams was uninjured, it added.

Taylor, 35, drove a 2007 Chevy Impala, which was hit by Brown in what was described in the report as a 1500 pickup. Adams drove a red Honda Accord.

"Brown changed lanes and when he did, he collided with the Impala, which caused the second car (the Impala) to spin," said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. "The Impala was then struck by the Honda Accord."

Banks said Brown was charged with failure to maintain a lane. The other drivers did not receive tickets.
